Army Partners with University of Maryland-led battery consortium

The Army awarded $7.2M for the University of Maryland's Center for Research in Extreme Batteries to lead an alliance of the United States' leading battery researchers.  Participating in the research collaboration will be Montana State University, Stony Brook University, University of Texas at Austin, New York Battery & Energy Storage Technology Consortium, Graphenix Development, Inc., Ion Storage Systems, Saft America, and three government laboratories--Brookhaven National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, and the National Institute of Standards & Technology.
